Car Insurance

Does anyone know the cheapest insurance company for an 18 year old lad thats just past his test ?
I have been looking around and the cheapest quote i can find is 5000+

Advise needed!! thanks

    Do ALL the online comparison websites, Then phone ALL the companies that are not on them.

    Then get the local yellow pages etc and phone ALL the brokers listed.

    Then shop around and ask people see if you missed any.

    As above and also try adding your parents ( if they drive) this could knock off a few quid

    And make sure that the car is the most unwanted one by 18 year old boys - skodas, volvos, perodua, etc. Stay away from Corsas, peugeots, clios, fiestas - anything that can be kevved up as they are going to cost more to insure.

    However there will be little you can do about the cost if you live in a high risk postcode.

    Ahh yes as paddedjohn said adding a parent may reduce the premium.

    BUT there again it may increase it. So double check.
