M&S Furniture delivery

A few weeks ago we visited M&S at Stratford and saw some stuff we like that we ordered over the internet, including some new coffee tables.
I emailed them a couple of days before we went on holiday telling them we couldn't take delivery of the tables then. After we got back, we hadn't heard anything from them, so contacted them via their website only to be told they had been trying to get hold of OH on a phone number which was out of date. He updated his contact details on his account and waited for a call - which didn't come. So he contacted them again and they said they hadn't realised he had updated his details so would pass the details to the people who had been trying to contact him. Still he got no call. So he contacted them again via the website, only to be told they had still been trying to contact him on the old number. So eventually he gets a call on Friday telling him delivery will be this Thursday. He told them we couldn't take delivery early because I'm out from 7am-9am at a business event.
So today he's received a text saying delivery will be between 7.15 and 9.15am on Thursday.
Now it just gets better and better. M&S say if we want to change the delivery slot, which we had told them was not convenient before THEY booked it, they will charge us £100 for the pleasure.
It's not as if I can jib my business meeting as I'm the speaker.
So I've had to go next door and ask my elderly neighbours if they would mind accepting delivery into our garage for us.
Snotty letter going to the Chairman of M&S at the weekend.
Absolutely chronic service. Fortunately OH has not yet completed the customer satisfaction survey they sent him......
And we're overlooking the fact they'd sold out completely of Jubilee teatowels we ordered over 3 weeks ahead of the event.
