Please can anyone give me the original BT basic link, I have tried the search option and spent over 1hr going page to page. Somebody posted the letter from BT saying you can have broadband with BT basic, and I need to see this, due to the following:
2wks ago I notified BT of my forthcoming home move, last night I went to my new property to measure for curtains, and there are letters THERE addressed to me from BT regarding this, including the one that gives you 7days to cancel (ha ha ha) dated 1st June. I rung them today to say I was embarrassed that my mail is going to this place when I am not there yet, and to clarify a couple of queries. If I want the mail to come to me at my current address, I have to start the all order process again, streuth!!!
1) I also asked for a No: to give to Plusnet for my broadband move (I will add here Plusnet have bent over backwards and rung me regularly to try and get this so I won't be without internet, full praise to them), and was told you CANNOT have broadband with BT basic, hence why I need to see this letter.
2) Does anyone know what indirect call barring means, obviously BT doesn't as this is on my letter, and I was passed to 4 different BT departments to find this out, and noone can tell me what it is.
Moving home is stressful, and I am fast finding out that the stress is caused by others, not yourself, lol.
Any help gratefully received. Diane

Indirect call barring is the blocking of indirect call providers such as 18185. If you make a call it must be with BT.:footie:

You can have any broadband service you like with BT Basic, it doesn't have to be BT.
From their website:
Can I have broadband with BT Basic?
Yes. We recognise the importance of the internet in today's world and BT Basic has been designed to allow broadband on the line. If you do take a broadband service the cost of this will be added to the BT Basic line rental. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thank you very much, obviously they do not train their staff. Diane0

Just spent 30 mins on the BT "support" chat thingy to confirm with them that taking out a BT Infinity Broadband package won't affect the line rental. So if you're on BT basic you'll stay on it even if you grab one of the BT Packages.
So BT Infinity here I come ^_^Laters

For me it took at least 18 months which included phone calls every other month to find out what was happening.
They never seemed to send out the required forms, and when they did it took so long that they cancelled my order because it took so long. Oh and according to the letter i got from them "you have to wait at least 6 months to re-apply after being refused or failing to complete required documentation." or words to that effect!
It ended up that I finally got on to BT Basic 3 months before they got around to informed me that I was accepted. but they still took the £14.80 a month for those 3 months! still that kept my account in credit for the past year! not had to make a payment yet... ^_^Laters

For me it only took a few weeks, maybe 2 or 3 at most0

It didn't take long for me either. A few weeks if I remember correctly.
BT Basic stops you using the override providers such as 1899 but it cannot stop you from using VOIP or Telesave which might work.0 -
thanks I tried to get the form twice for my father but the form never turned up in the post!0
