The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

It's all very well putting all this stuff in - but there is also the weight to consider surely? Carry-on baggage is restricted to 10kg.
With Easyjet you can have as much as you like, as long as it fits their dimensions and you can lift it yourself into the overhead bin

I'm that annoying woman who will pay the fee to stow the case and not have to see it again until the end of the journey.

It is hell when you get on the plane behind hordes of people who have "just a carry on". No place to stow my coat or actual carry on bag. Every piece of overhead space is full of black roll aboard bags.

So when I travel with the husband we check one case and have a carryon which we have no place to stow.
  • Instead of books I would take my Kindle.
I would read hard copy books at home, but carry Kindle already loaded with books and samples so not the remotest chance of boredom or lack of material when I am in foreign climes.

  • I don't want to wear sweaty clothes, it is far nicer (after a bath or shower) to put fresh clothes on a fresh body.
If you are petite like me then 10kg is gonna be a helluva heavy load and that's just for handluggage.
Thinks of Laptop Mobile etc plus chargers etc etc.

I have recently discovered that Easyjet will let you check a hand luggage sized bag in for free if the flight is a busy one. I did this on the way and the way back from Alicante last week.
We were going to pay to check a case in as we had stuffed it full of gifts and there was no way it would fit inside the frame, and it was too heavy to lift into the over head locker. I asked if we could check it in for free, and she was more than happy to let us :)
