Im in need of serious help here - weve just bought a new house and we were in the process of taking the fires out to replace them when we came across a baxi bermuda back boiler. Now we have taken the front fire bit off as it was damaged and we wanted to buy a new one - we threw the other one outside thinking we could just email Baxi and order a new one - how wrong was i!! Ive just been informed that they no longer make these fires or firefronts as the government deemed them not efficent enough. Can anyone help me as to find out what fire front i need to be looking for?? I nearly bought one from ebay after a bit of searching on the internet but im not sure now after hearing from baxi. They will no longer reply to any of my emails asking which one i should be looking for (im guessing because it wont be from them).
Please please please help!!!

Your RGI should be able to advise.
CanuckleheadAsk to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)0 -
You cant just fit any firefront, boiler and fire are matched and fitting another that is not matched will break regulations and almost certainly compromise your safety!!!
You also should not use the backboiler without a firefront fitted as this will also compromise regulations and your safety!!!Signature removed0 -
You obviously also now have an open end on the connection that the gas fire was connected to and this will be totally reliant on the gas tap working properly.
This is illegal and unsafe, so needs a RGI out to cap it off properly.0 -
Im not actually using the fire - All the gas and electric mains have been switched off. Ive sorted it now anyway - we got an engineer out to have a look and they were trying to figure out what type we need as they werent completely sure so then i rang Baxi and they told me i need to get a pw5, c5, c5w or sp3 that will fit the back boiler - just in case anyone else has this problem.0
