Good morning,
Last Friday my laptop was playing up and suddenly wouldn't shut down automatically and it wouldn't start up properly. Anyway, to cut a long story short I ran quite a few antivirus programmes i.e. AVG, Microsoft Essential, Super Antispiware etc but they couldn't find anything wrong. I then ran some online programs and a couple of them picked up some viruses and cleaned the system. Laptop works fine now. :T
This morning I run the StopSign Internet security and it found Trojan Dropper Win 32 Agent.dzov. StopSign needs a payment to remove it.
Does anybody know any other way to remove this trojan please?
Many thanks
Katerina

After having a quick google, I found one of the trojans alias's for a different antivirus, and their website has removal instructions.
Hope this helps- David0 -
Thank you David. I saw this one too but I'm a bit hesitant to Disable System Restore as I've read somewhere in this forum that this should be avoided.0

Only other thing I'd suggest then is that you a system restore back to a point where you weren't noticing your problems- David0

Thanks David..
If it's any help the file that it's affected by this is ZTE_MF636_LEGACY_DRIVER_2.1040.0.3Uninstall.exe and it's located in my Program Files in a folder called ZTE_MF636_LEGACY_DRIVER_2.1040.0.3
I have no idea what folder/file this is.0 -
Just done another google, and ZTE_MF636 seems to be a model for a mobile internet dongle. I'm guessing you have/have used one on that computer before? If you haven't then it might be suspicious- David0

Yes, I did use mobile internet last year. I should delete is as I am not using it anymore, shouldn't I?0

I don't see why there would be any problem in doing so. I'd go ahead- David0

I deleted the folder and ran the antivirus again and didn't find anything. So, hopefully that was it. Thanks David0

To be sure, download and run Sophos Virus Removal Tool. The scan is very thorough and will take a while. Don't be tempted to abort the scan, just leave it to do it's job.
It will not affect, and will run happily alongside, your installed anti virus software.
Just reading back on your OP, you mentioned using several different products on your machine. Having more than one anti-virus program doing real-time scanning is not good and could cause you untold problems. How do I add a signature?0 -
Thank you.
3hrs later Sophos found another virus. Let's hope that it's all cleared now.
I only have AVG and Microsoft Security Essentials doing real time scanning. Should I remove one them?0
