I have downloaded a copy of a foreign film that comes with a separate file for the subtitles (srt files). How do I get this file to work with the film?
I want to transfer the film to a memory stick and play it through the blu ray player.
It's driving me up the wall!

Make sure the film and subtitle files are in the same folder and have compatible names (title.avi and title.srt usually)
Make sure any subtitle option is switched on, but if the media player in the bluray player doesn't support subs, then you can't do anything about it other than watch it on your computer or prep it as a disc with subs using something like ConvertXtoDVD.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
You will have to watch it via your PC monitor or plug your PC into you TV using something like http://www.videolan.org/ or get a convertor that will turn the video file and subtitle file into a 'DVD'.
I've been using VLC for years. Plays virtually every video file out there.0 -
Just found another version with the subtitles hard coded and down loaded that instead.0

I needed to hard code subtitles into a DVD, after loads of dead ends and duff info, I found that http://www.avirecomp.com/news.php was the one that worked for me.
Others would put the subtitles onto the DVD and allow them to be shown using the 'subtitles' button.Move along, nothing to see.0
