Help with entitlement - unsure

I wondering if someone can help?

I am not the best at working things out when it comes to benefits ect, relatively new to it all.

My husband and I have taken the decision for me to leave my current employment to become a full time mum.
I have always worked and this has come after we were paying so much out for child are and getting no time and enjoyment from our children.

Can any one shed any light as to what we will be entitled to or could possibly claim to help?

Our 2010/2012 income details
Me £15000
DH £13000
Child are costs £280 per week

2012/2013 (my wage up to leaving work) (child are up to me leaving work)
Me £3000
DH £13000
Childcare £315 per week

I am not particularly great a working out or guessing how tax credits work.

I have been told we could claim housing benefit and council tax benefit, is this true? If so, is it means tested or ?.?

How old are your kids? in a few/couple of years they will be in school and you may not be able to get back into work easily after your benefits are cut

That is the plan, once they are both in full time education. Eldest is 3, youngest 2.

Childcare wont be included anymore with tax credits, but if there is a entitlement to HB, they will knock childcare off. Thats if you keep them in childcare, im presuming you wont need it now? Not too sure about tax credits, try one of the online benefit checkers, that will give you a rough idea. xx
