Under cupboard stick-on lights - any good?

These seem to be just the job for providing some lighting where needed over kitchen worktops... but I'm wondering whether there's any experience/advice out there.
They're cheap enough and seem to avoid the need for installing-by-electrician but if anyone knows a reason why I shouldn't buy, I'd rather hear it now than when I've already made the purchase!

If they are battery powered ones with a switch then they are fine, I have them
If they are those solar things, dont waste your money, they just give a dull glow.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I imagine they might come unstuck in time what with the warm kitchen environment.... but worth a try for the price0

I have a couple of the Osram ones and they are great (though I don't use them in my kitchen). The battery life is excellent & they are nice and bright. One of the 2 I have is waterproof, comes with a suction cup, built in magnet and even has a ring of self adhesive velcro in if you prefer to use that! So you really can stick it anywhere.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0

We bought 5 led strip lights to try and they have been brilliant.
We put them just behind the pelmets on the units and they give a really good light.
So much so, we don't need the ceiling lights on at all.
The ones we bought last year, are not sold by the Ebay seller we bought them from.
These might be the same though... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cool-White-5M-SMD-300-LED-Flexible-Strip-Light-Adapter-/180579389157?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Night_Lights_Fairy_Lights&hash=item2a0b5ecee5#ht_3310wt_9890 -

LED lights don't consume batteries that fast., and you could always invest in some rechargeables."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
