Electric Switch behind Dual Fuel Oven - Safe?

I wonder if you can help.
I took delivery of a new Dual Fuel Oven today. (Gas hob and electric oven)
When the delivery driver arrived he stated it was unsafe to connect it and that if I had paid the installation fee, he would have refused to fit it.
He said the switch I have behind the oven (which operates the outside sensor lights to the house) is unsafe, and an insurance company would invalidate a claim if I had a fire that started with the oven.
I called my electrician to ask him to come and make changes and he said that he had never heard of any fires like this before, and was of the understanding it was safe.
Would anyone be able to help, I don't know if I am safe or not to have this switch there. It is clearly not ideal, and the electrician said he can come out and put some electric plain box behind and then run some plastic trunking into a cupboard and put the switch there, but I am worried that the plastic trunking and the plain cover would cause the same issue that the delivery driver mentioned.
Any thoughts from an expert?
Thanks

surely some heat-proof cable will be required?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

the only problem is the switch should be accessible, your electrician appears to be on the right track. (I'm a qualified spark myself)0

Without seeing it it's difficult to call but i think he is mistaking the switch for the cooker control which should not be placed behind the appliance for the simple reason if a pan fire broke out on the hob top you would not be able isolate the supply an outside light switch although not ideal above the cooker is not really a problem.0
