Quote for chasing central heating pipes

We (ie my wife) want to hide the central heating pipes in our flat and so we will be asking for quotes to do the following work:
* Remove the old copper pipework from the walls
* Chase and install new copper pipes (22 and 15 mm) with lagging etc. throughout the flat - the walls are mainly brick and/or breeze-block - with a total length of approx. 35 meters
* replaster the walls where the channel was made
Can anybody give an indication as to what this will cost (SE England) - or even an estimate as to a price per meter - or any other help
Many thanks

No idea, but it won't be cheap and it will be a major upheaval, especially if it involves every, or most, rooms in your flat.0

It might not even be possible - the pipes have to go pretty deep and you might not be able to take that much out of the wall without impacting the structure. And you are going to need at least 2 trades - A plumber who does their own chasing and then a plasterer. Then you have to redecorate everything. So not cheap to just hide the pipes!
Plus, the biggest thing to consider I would say is the mess. If they use a chasing machine it will create dust like you wouldn't believe. Nothing in the flat will escape the dust and it will be around forever.
Unless the property is being gutted and re-furbed, I wouldn't go for this. My suggestion would be to get in a decent joiner and see if you can get them boxed in in a tidy way and out of view.0 -
IMO the most stupid idea i've seen this week, pipework should be accessable & protected, what happens if you have a leak how happy is your good lady gonna be having a big hole chopped in the wall, then you need to be able to move the pipe to get a new fitting on it which will be impossible due to no movement, just box the pipes & don't even consider going down the chasing route.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
yep box them in and finish off to match room decs:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:0
