Best spending card

Options
just cleared all my debt, as my mortgage application required it, all CC's cleared, student loan done and the house purchase is going through

as its my first home and needing some spending i was wondering what card is best to get for spending (buying sofas, furniture etc) have spent the last 15 months using a tesco clubcard CC as it allowed me to put all my normal spending on it and squirrel away my cash for maximum savings, and in the last 4 months, stopped using the card and paid the entire lump sum off

im very good at managing my finances just looking for the best deal on my next card, clubcard points were a nice bonus last time, but now i have one i cant have another one:(

cheers

don't make any crdit applications until propertry completion

whats wrong with continuing to use the tesco card and benefit from the club points?

and investigate cashback sites like quidco for the furnishing spending

Both RBS and NatWest are offering 18 month 0% purchase cards at present. See the list below :

Whilst cashback\reward points may be nice little extras they will not be more valuable than earning interest in a decent account for 18 months whilst you defer having to pay for your purchases now.

Is it really worth stoozing at a beneficial interest rate of less than three per cent pre tax?

You should be able to get at least 4% per annum, if you know what you are doing you can get more than that.

The only Cashback rewards that come close are American Express and Capital One that both offer a 5% Introductory Rate, but it is only an Introductory Rate for 3 months with a £100 limit. The stoozing has always worked out more profitable for me, and the profits are not as great now as they used to be - but they are still there. So what I have done is increase the number of deals running, the more you stooze the more profit there is to be had. I currently have 8 credit cards all holding balances at 0%.

the relative benefits of stoozing savings interest or cashback depends upon the credit limit and the total spend over the timescale concerned

i totally agree, allows me to make big purchases (SOFA, bathroom) and spread the cost via my savings for 18 months.

will look into the 2 18 month cards, but as you said, after i have fully completed on the mortgage
