FairFX Card for spending

Hi all, hope you're well.

I have a quick question regarding foriegn spending. I fly to Singapore and Malaysia this friday, and have the FairFX/CaxtonFX combination. I've applied for the Halifax Clarity but won't get it in time.

My question is, what is my cheapest way now to spend abroad? I would have thought that the FairFX/CaxtonFX cards would give me the cheapest spending abroad, but having read the site, do I take a 1.4% (FairFX) every time I'd make any transaction in these 2 countries?

If that IS the case, and given that I can't get an overseas credit card in time, can anyone advise what the best way to spend abroad will be? FairFX/CaxtonFX or to get travel money in advance (cash)?

Also, CaxtonFX charges no fees for withdrawing cash, but FairFX has the better exchange rate, which would be better to use to withdraw cash from a cashpoint abroad then!?

Thanks very much for your suggestions.
