Wallpaper Border Glue Removal - Help

I'm trying to remove a wallpaper border from a room. It goes around the middle.
The vinyl top layer comes off easily enough, then after soaking the paper backing, that comes off too.
However, there is a layer of glue that I cannot get off.
I've tried hot steam & even a little cellulose thinners, although I know cellulose thinners isn't a very clever idea.
The glue I used to put the border on with, was a regular border adhesive bought from B & Q.
The darn glue is obviously not water soluble.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use a sticky stuff remover for stubborn glue, I get mine from Lakeland but not sure if this would be good enough for what you need (I can see B&Q sell it - http://www.diy.com/nav/rooms/indoor-cleaning-laundry/bins-cleaning-supplies/specialist_cleaning/-specificproducttype-stain_removal/Desolvit-Sticky-Stuff-Remover-10287730
Homebase do a spray which may work. http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=869416Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Thank you Meadows, I'll check those out.0

Yesterday, I bought the one from B & Q as it's the nearest to us - didn't work on my glue.
So this morning I went to Homebase to try the one they sell - didn't work again.
Oh well, worth a try and I'm sure they will come in for something else.0 -
