MSE News: Supermarkets to cut petrol prices

I agree with everyone's sentiment about Asda driving down the price- they are always cheaper, but unfortunately for me they are 8 miles away on the other side of town whilst the always dearer Tesco is 1k away- and yes they always put there prices up before they start a so called "promotion". We have a rumour in the local rag that Morrison's may be coming to our end of town- I can't wait, this will give greedy Tesco a right good bloody nose, and if they bring a forecourt with them, then bonus for the motorist!0

Who cares? Depends on how much fuel you use. I'm sure 3p a litre is a massive difference to lorry drivers and don't forget that their costs get passed on to you.
I always remember getting told off by my boss for spending over £1000 on petrol in a month, then I handed him my list of jobs for that month and he shut up. Again that 3p makes a big difference.
Also, kind of glad I forgot to fill up last night.. Currently sat in work, the Mondeo tells me I have 1 mile left in the tank, and there's an Asda 1/4 mile down the road.0 -
Think yourselves lucky, our 3 nearest Asdas don't have petrol stations, nearest one with is 45 miles. We have Mr M and Mr T competing but prices aren't particularly low.0

Weirdly the Morrisons near me has increased their price from 129.9 to 130.9
I noticed my local Tesco's had gone from 131.9 to 132.9 yesterday, so when they come down 3p, it will only be 2p really, compared with a few days earlier.
A strategically priced 129.9 - just below the psychological 130p barrier.0 -
Judging by the responses so far - a fair few people.
Umm, did you read more than those two words before hitting reply?
The rest of that line was a description of some people who care very much about it, namely lorry drivers, and why everyone else should care about the costs of running a lorry.0 -

of course I did.
you claim that no-one cares, unless you're a lorry driver - which is clearly not the case. Many view the cut as 'welcome' whilst wishing it came sooner.
You don't need to be a lorry driver to benefit from this.0 -

As a non-car driver, I wonder whether the higher food prices we are paying are being used to subsidise drivers. Meanwhile bus fares here just gone up and train fares never go down only ever up.0
