Hello – Just purchased a house. The hall landing and stairs walls are bumpy and painted in some matt paint. Would it be ok to plaster over this?

This is a question that only an experienced tradesman can answer, the walls would have to be inspected to see what is causing the bumps in the first place.
Call out a tradesman and get an expert opinion.

I like this forum for minor diy problems you can post pics and they were very helpful for wallpapering tips for me. there were some plasterers on there if you post a pic someone may help.
