Agency not happy with me.

My current job I got through an agency. The emailed me last week to find out how I was getting on. I explained I was looking at other options. They replied saying why take the job then and that I can't do that. I replied that the job advertised did not exist. Salary is much lower and hours different, I await a reply but they are not happy with me. What would u do?

They pay you or you get paid from the employer?

They can't stop you looking for another job but maybe you shouldn't have told them that.

I've noticed that quite a bit with agencies. The last one I interviewed with told me the pay was minimum wage for x amount of hours & the advert stated £6.30ph for different hours. Very bizarre & frustrating. Why offer one thing to reel people in & then change it? Hmm.

Not sure why you told them you were looking for something else.. I probably wouldn't have done that. Mostly because I'd be paranoid that they'd just look for a reason to fire me after that! Lol. I can understand why they aren't happy with you! :s

The agency can't fire him if he works for the company

No, they will just never put him forward for anything again.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

If you took a permanent job via an agency, they will have bee paid a sum between 13-25% of your salary as a 'finders fee'. If you quit within three months, they usually have to a pay a sum back to the employer.

    1. If the salary is not as promised, then tell them - they may be losing money on the deal, and their candidates are not going to be happy about future roles there.
    2. If you are not happy with the role, you can do exactly as your please. You are not responsible for the agency's money, although you are unlikely to find work through them again.
    3. Perhaps work with the agency and your employer to find out if there was miscommunication about the role. See if your expectations and your employer's needs can come a little more in line with each other.

    Good luck

Are you employed by the agency or the employer? If it's by the agency then they may sack you and ask you to not attend work. If it's by the company then you don't have to answer to the agency at all.

I doubt that you will get a reply from the agency when you told them about the differences from what you thought you were going for and what you actually are doing. Makes me wonder sometimes that agency people don't actually know the jobs they are talking about.

OK, they weren't happy - because they could see themselves having to re-pay part of the fee or have to go to the trouble of finding a replacement with no further payment from the employer.

They won't be interested in the reasons about the job - they will know what you are being paid because their payment will be based on your pay.

I wouldn't waste any more of my time on pursuing this with the agency at the present time - and as the chief option you are considering at the moment seems to be to do more study you may not need their services once you leave your current job.

I am down £300 per month compared to the job advertised, I would call that quite significant.

43 hours per week instead of 40 advertised with a clause in the contract about over time meaning I am averaging 47 hours per week.

I can see why they miss advertised the job, no one would apply if they didn't, If I get sacked I get sacked, I am really past caring at this stage I am so !!!!!! off.
