SafeKnight and personal security apps

Hey folks,

Don't normally do this but, my husband made me download an app on my Android device this weekend. App is called SafeKnight - all you have to do is take photos of where you are on a night out and the image, date, location and time is stored on a secure sever. Then if anything happens to you (god forbid) the police or your partner could have instant access to information about where you were and when. Bit of a no brainer for the cost of 79p. I always take loads of photos anyway so one extra doesn't hurt.

Thought other ladies on here might be interested - also husbands, boyfriends and dad's might want their girls to use it. Cheers

I've come across this app recently too (for my iPhone) and I've been encouraging all of my friends to download it as well! It's a really novel idea and is so easy to use. I went up to London at the weekend and had to get a cab back to my hotel late in the evening, so I took a quick photo of the number plate, just to give me peace of mind really, as I knew that my location, date, time, etc would automatically be safely stored. You do unfortunately sometimes hear stories of people disappearing after nights out, so it seems like a really sensible thing to do as a precaution! Also, my mum knows that I use the app, and it keeps her off my back as she feels a little more in control of my safety (I'm sure I'm not the only person to have an over-anxious mum!?!!)

SafeKnight only cost me 69p from the app store and it's definitely great value for money, particularly for the peace of mind it gives me (and my mum!)

I'd be really interested to know how other people use the app? It's slowly becoming part of my routine on nights out, but I bet there are lots of other occasions I could make use of it too!

I saw SafeKnight online through a friends update on Facebook and I just couldn't believe it. In a world where everybody is only after themselves, this app is a breath of fresh air, with the power to make real change.

For 69p I can download this app to to my iPhone, with no further costs associated whatsoever. As a peace of mind tool it is effective, and for situations not quite in your comfort zone, can provide added peace of mind. The way I see it, anytime you perhaps fear for your safety, you can take a picture to capture any image (license plate, street sign, bar name etc) and it is sent to a secured server. There must be countless other uses, and what incredible value for money. Perhaps even more powerful for women and parents (to put on their children's phones, without stealing their freedom), and can act as a huge deterrent. The more people that know about this, the more impact and effect it can have!

I urge you to look into, help spread the world and make change happen.

And as I just found out, 25% of profits go to charity! Such an inventive and simple idea, one that can really make a difference. Inspirational stuff!
