Ecarinsurance

HI all
Has anyone had any problems with ecarinsurance when they come to the end of their yearof insurance? My girlfriend is going with another company this coming year so does not want to renew the policy but I can't find anything to tell them not to renew. I'm a bit worried they are just going to renew anyway and take the money out of my account (I've transferred all my money out so they can't take it but I would go overdrawn and incur a fee so obviously don't want them to do this). Can they just renew or do they need explicit permission as it was a one-year policy (AFAIK). I've tried emails to customer services, enquiries etc to no avail. Their website is less than useless.
Any help/reassurance greatly appreicated

When is the renewal due ?
Remember that sometimes companies will process the payment, very near to the renewal date.
If you can't phone or email them. Send the renewal notice back to them with a covering letter, by recorded delivery.
Look on line and you will find many people who are not able to contact this company. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -

Take care with this advice.
Before returning the renewal notice, check that you have a separate proof of NCD (most insurers want the renewal notice as the NCD proof you have claimed holding when completing the application).
If the renewal notice also acts as the NCD proof and you return it to them, expect problems trying to get another proof out of them.
(The document you may need to return, though, is the new certificate, if they have mailed you one.)0 -
Oops, thanks Quentin. Perhaps I should have said the renewal letter, as the renewal notice may be required for NCD proof. The comments I post are personal opinion. You might want to cancel ASAP so they dont start taking money for next years cover.
At least 7 days really, I would phone them AND send a recorded delivery letter.
Dont leave it, It maybe a lot more hassle to sort out later.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks all. The girlfriend has had a chat with them now on the phone and they have halted the policy as of this Friday and sent email confirmation. Thanks for all your help0
