Did you ever chase up any PPI you had on any cards, loans etc. I remember you saying that you thought that Mr BR had sometimes taken out the insurance?

Any avenues on the employment front for you? Are you able to undertake further training, volunteering etc to help you find employment?

Yeah, I really must investigate the PPI thing....

Nothing on the cards re: employment atm, no.
I have a few personal issues at the moment as well which is not helping on that front, but hopefully I'm getting those sorted.

That life insurance is HUGE. Being through a bank wont help - get an independant financial advisor and find another plan.

I have a policy, which covers me and the wife, for death or critical illness, which is worth £120k on death (would pay off the mortgage) - and it costs us £16.50/month. Its with standard life I believe.

Thanks, I'll mention it to Mr BR.
An independent financial advisor would cost money though yes?

You really do not need an independent financial adviser just look online google life insurance and use one of the comparison sites to find the best quote for the amount of cover you would need.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi BR

Just wanted to add my support and good wishes. I love my Radio Times it is my one weekly treat too. I don't know where the money goes either, it just seems to slip away. This month was MIL's birthday, a repair to OH's guitar and new strings, some bits for the garden and on it goes. Car up for its MOT at the end of the month and already worrying about how much that is going to be. Luckily OH has some overtime coming so hopefully that will cover it. Not everyone is lucky enough to get overtime though. Our wages have been frozen for the last three years and prices keep going up. It is really tough at the moment, and when you are feeling low it is hard to get motivated to ebay/carboot etc.

Hope things improve for you and sending you virtual hugs:A

    Thanks Grow...

We have the car tax hurtling towards us, and a couple of trips up north for a couple of different special occasions, not sure how we're going to afford to do it, if I'm honest.
