Help - I can't cope any more.

I'm not sure I understand why you're so upset by the default BR? This is almost always going to happen when you go on a DMP and simply reflects that you are not making the contractual payments to the creditor. It is better now than later.

I'm not upset about it, it's just one more thing to push me over the edge of coping with all this.

Its not worth getting upset every day over money.
Post up that SOA and lets see if we can help.
If you have to drop the CCCS payment then all that will happen is that the DMP will take a little longer but you won't suffer years of misery.
You are still entitled to a life, its just the adjustments are hard.
Take CareMama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -
I started my DMP in Dec 2005 but for some reason wasnt defaulted till 2008 !.
As my DMP was for 7 years it means by DMP will end Dec 2012 butr the defaults wont fall off till Dec 2014 (at the latest).
Not that I`m bothered about it !.
As soon as you start on a DMP, like day follows night, you will get deafulted, so I would channel your energy more into getting your DMP right than worrying about the default.

ok, well, here's our current SOA with CCCS - with notes.
Total income - one earner - £1994
Mortgage - £662.25 (due to go up by £14 a month on 28th June)
Water - £62
Council Tax - £87
Gas - £66
Electric - £27 (but it's actually 32)
Building & Contents - £30 (but it's actually 37)
British Gas home serve - £16
Telephone inc Broadband - £56 (CCCS have it down as 51) Can't change this as limited to one supplier
TV License - £14 (although as of next month will be £20)
Life Insurance - £81
Car servicing - £15
Road Tax £10 (which we haven't been able to put aside so we'll have to find 74 soon)
Insurance - £22.62 (cccs have it down as 20)
Fuel and parking - £100
Food/toiletries/cleaning - £280
Pets - £40
clothing and footwear - £20 (although this actually goes on general monthly expenses)
Professional fees - £31 (my OH needs to pay this for his work)
Prescriptions - £10
Dentist/opticians - £10
Newspapers/mags - £20
Entertainment - 20 - (although, again, we don't use this for entertainment as we never go out)
We give the CCCS - £294
I think I've included everything...Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93
Oct 2013 = Current debt: £39.054.70

On that basis your spends are £30 per month more than currently given on your SOA, so you need to talk to CCCS.
There really should however be some slack in your budget because the groceries is a DMP allowance; a lot of people in work topped up by benefits have an awful lot less money to spend on this - about half of you allowance.
Are there things that get spent that are not in the budget? Maybe you both need to do a spending diary for a few weeks to see what is going out that is not in the budget? or if the budget does not reflect the real costs? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
 i just wanted to re-iterate what's been said really, you are not alone in this. :kisses3:DEBT FREE AND PROUD'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt'0

Shop around for Life insurance. We were paying a similar amount to you but got some quotes and got a better policy with Aviva and now pay £15 instead of £80.0
