does anyone know if benefits are affected by getting financial support for degree?

Title says it all really, I want to do a degree with open university and I am looking at the financial support but just wondered if it will affect my housing benefit and tax credits if I do it? Any help?

You don't get any financial support for studying with the OU, only loans for the fees, so this wouldn't affect benefits.0

Ditto - you can only claim the fee loan not student support.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Mind you, I've noticed that there is a very high attrition rate for those that don't pay. Those that have to pay £800+ per module tend to take it a little more seriously.0 -

New students starting from September will need to take out loans for the fees. There never has been any maintenance support when studying with the OU that could affect benefits.0 -
