Thanks for all the responses
I have to say, wonderful though he is with treating us all, it is more that he wants a naughty pud etc for himself but knows he can't just get one and sit in front of us and eat it - he'd never survive the night!
He does buy them with his money and was shocked how it totted up. He has said he won't buy anything this week and we will have a meal out and bowling at the weekend instead!0 -

In that case, is there a treat that you could prepare at home which is healthier and cheaper? That way, he won't feel so tempted to buy stuff. (apologies if you already do that)
The meal out and bowling sounds greatFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Ha, other way around in my household. I do the cooking, and my wife can't be trusted to do The Big Shop too often!
I suppose when I'm shopping I get some satisfaction from buying the best bits for our meals, whereas that doesn't interest her so much if it won't be her cooking them, so she spends a fortune on fancy puddings, lunch time treats and branded everything...0 -
And to think i got excited about OH buying some 19p doughnuts in Mr T this afternoon lol
It's easy for the little amounts to add up, the fact that it's M&S anyway probably makes it dearer. Glad it hasn't caused a row. I'm sure a family day out will be much more enjoyed than a pudding or some mushrooms:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Sounds like he's figured things out already? TBH if I found my OH was spending £130 a week on pointless anything I'd be asking him what he thought he was doing. £130 a week is nearly £7000 a year, fgs, and that could pay for a great family holiday or a kid's uni expenses or a decent second car, all of which would be more of a treat for the family than a few portions of fattening puddings that I could probably make better and cheaper anyway.
He does sound a lovely man though, I'm sure he's taken the concept on board!Val.0
