You'll get charged 2.75% commission for any and all non-sterling transactions. And if your paying for a holiday on a CC, dont be suprised if the travel agent stings you about 2% for paying by credit card

Be aware that for some cruises the on-board currency is $s, so you will be charged the commission fee.

Basically everything on board (drinks, treatments, purchases) gets put on a tab and you pay at the end of the cruise.
Depends which cruise line you are going with.

My advice, as a regular cruiser, if you can, is to get yourself a Nationwide Credit and Debit Card. If you use your NW credit card to make purchases abroad, they do not charge commission, and if you load your debit card account with cash, you can also use it in ATM's abroad without paying commission. I cruise mainly with Princess Cruises and their policy is to charge in US dollars so if you use your NW credit card , no commission. However, you have to ensure that the shipping company do not convert your dollars bill to sterling as they charge you 3% for doing so.
