How can Orange put their prices up by 50%?

I have been using orange's tariff of unlimited (3000) text a month for £5 and have to text to a number every month to continue getting them. Got the reminder text this morning and uts gone up to £7.50. How? Why? I rang them up and no joy, its gone up and thats that.

I have been trying to find ways to cut back and just got all our family's phone unlocked so we could all have the £5 a month orange deal so its put a spanner in the works as total monthly cost for 4 of us has gone from £20 to £30.

I know it seems like I'm being tight but you have to cut back somewhere and its getting harder and harder.

Had to get it off my chest! Now, off to surf for a better deal...anyone got any pointers?

Prices changed on 1st June. A lot of the £5 bolt ons are now £7.50 but the rewards on the plans have been improved.
