Earphones for Creative Zen Vision M

I have a Creative Vision M MP3 player and need some decent headphones. The big problem I have is that it appears to be comparatively quiet even when at full volume especially compared to my brother's Iriver. Can anyone recommend any decent headphones, I'm not bothered if they're in-ear or not although I think the in-ear ones may be better. Any suggestions please?

Doesn't the Vision M have a volume limiter? Are you sure that isn't set to too low a volume?

    Hi,

I'm guessing that you have the European firmware, which does indeed have a volume limiter built in.

If you load the latest USA firmware, this restriction is removed.

(Worked for me, but your mileage may very!).

Well worth signing up for the forum on epiZENter for more detail and link to firmware.

    Hope that helps,

    Regards,

    White.

I have the Creative Zen Photo and found that the earphones that came with them were rubbish. I got a set of these and found them to be a great improvement

  • I have the same ones as above and heartily recommend them. They're great on the bus - I can't hear anyone and they can't hear me! Takes a bit of getting used to when walking around town because you can't hear traffic noise, but you get used to it.

The in-ear phones should help with the volume as well. Most people find they can turn down the volume by several levels with them, which also helps with battery life. I do find with my Creative Zen that when I hook it up to speakers in the kitchen I have to put the speakers on high and the player on high to hear it over the kettle! I agree that downloading the American firmware is the simplest way to remove the volume cap.

Like whitefiver says, the European firmwares are often limited by Creative. The fix is to load USA firmware if its available for your model. If you've never done a firmware update before double check you know what you are doing first.
