We recently had a new door installed by our builder which after 5 months has cracked. The suppliers have agreed to replace the door. It not the costs of fitting or painting. The builder has threatend them with solicitors and will get a credit note to use in their store for the cost of hanging and fitting the door but has not claimed for the cost of paint and painting the door as we did that ourselves. The supplier say they will not pay for that as it is a hard wood door and does not. Red to be painted. We as the customer will therefore have to pay for more paint and time even though it was their product that was faulty. They have agreed that there was a manufacturing fault with the door and are covering the builders costs, does anybody know where our rights as the customer in covering the cost of the paint etc. thank you

I wouldnt think you have any rights at all to be honest, if they say that it really doesnt need painting. The painting of it is your choice.
Dont you have any paint left from the last door.
For the sake of a fiver or so, are you really that bothered.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I would be pleased that they accepted responsibility, and will provide a replacement and pay for fitting. As said above, a tin of paint is not much. Tedious to paint again, but worth it.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0

Painting a door is not a necessity when hanging a door, and is an option that only you decide.0
