Dodgy redundancy payout ????

Options
Hi all,

Help needed

A friend is being made redundant from a company that is owned (60%) by a PLC.

Now the company are paying only statutory redundancy - although they claim to want to do the best for their staff!! Uh huh! - however........I know for a fact that the PLC is making redundancies and paying out 2.5 times weekly pay for every year worked.

My question therefore is - shouldn't the redundancy payout be the same as the PLC?

Thanks in advance for help

I would have thought that unless its written into a contract ,
as long as they pay the statutory entitlement then they have complied with there obligations

There is nothing dodgy - unless their contract states higher.
