you can either insulate just your stud walls or stud out and insulate all the exterior and party walls also (you will lose about 4 inches off each wall and its v v expensive, but will make your house nice and toasty come winter)

i used 200mm loft roll in my project, as for soundproofing, it will make a difference but... not much

if you want to soundproof a certain room, your best putting the stud wall back together then building another stud wall 20mm or so in front of it with staggered studs, again expensive

I have found a product called rockwool flexi does anyone know if it should be packed in the space, the same thickness as the timber stud or thinner so there is an air gap??
