Rooms for 5

We have boon looking at holidays in Mexico, and found where we want to go.

Searching the Internet the tour operators make us have 2 rooms for us, 2 adults and 3 children, but found 'on the beach' booked us into 1 room. Went onto the hotels own website, and yes, there is a junior suite which sleeps 2 adults and 3 children.

Called Thomson, and she told me that they couldn't do that, and I should double check, as she had checked had they don't do rooms for 5.

Why do travel agents do this? I presume for the extra £££, as if I book through them we will pay for 4 adults and 1 child. We will only use one room, as we have 3 small children, and haven't gone away to be apart!

Thomson work out about £300 cheaper than on the beach, but it's paying for 2 basic rooms, or I can pay for 1 suite with a jacuzzi & balcony... Personally I'd rather pay slightly more and know I'm using what I've paid for!!!

Anyone know a way around this with the agents??

It's is an AI to Sandos caracol Eco resort. Weds 12th Dec - Weds 26th Dec. prices are Thomson £5760 & on the beach £6066. Flying from London

What about if you just go on the hotels website and book the junior suite youve seen?

And then book your own flights?
  • I have looked at that and that seems to work out more expensive...

    How much more?

If the travel agents wont give you what you want it might be worth it depending on the cost.
