Are you assuming you need two rooms as there are five of you or do you particularly want two rooms? The hotel we stay at in Puerto San Miguel Ibiza do bigger rooms sleeping up to 6 people. I can give you more details if you are intersted? It's a lovely resort for families.

We both work in schools which is why we can never afford to go on holiday! So expensive in school holidays.
August isn't that expensive if you DIY, particularly late August when a lot of the European schools have gone back.

I've just recently booked flights with Ryanair, and all inclusive hotel (Lagotel)for 3 adults and 1 child(with Alpharooms), at the end of August to Majorca. Hotel had decent reviews on Trip Advisor. Came to around £1600 inc transfers. Thats a 1 bedroom apartment. There were selfcatering options for around £1200.

there always seem to be cheap flights to 'reus in the school holidays (summer) but most people seem to go to Salou from there which doesn't sound like it will be quiet but the good side is that you can get bus transfers to there. Csmbrils looks nice but never been there and the apartments seem to be about £1000 which is twice what we pay in javea

you are giving an awful lot of personal info out - you might want to change your username.

Anyway IF either of you are teachers check out the union websites - I know NASUWT has offers.

Don't worry, my username is not my real name.

My children are terrible sleepers and we all get too tired and grumpy if we share a room. We usually go in a caravan for that reason but I would love to go somewhere sunny.

We went to Puerto Pollensa in Majorca last year and loved it- very kid friendly and we'll be going back this year again. No need for a hire car as we used the excellent public bus service for the odd days out we had. We stayed at the Las Velas apartments which were excellent too.

Thanks, loads of ideas there. Looked at ferries but not much near here so probably will try local airport and Spain or Spanish islands.
