Hi
I’m planing to rent a flat from a agency.
This is my first time renting flat from agency,so there are lot of things I have no idea.
The agency require insurance .
Here is what they said on application form
“It’s our policy that all tenants are required to take out insurance for their own personal belongings and have cover for accidental damage to the landlord’s property”
Does that mean I need have a content insurance and building insurance?
And I have no idea about insurance .
So how and where can I buy a insurance and how much it will be ?
And agency also mentioned if I don't have ,I can contact Rent Guardian to get one . Any one get insurance from Rent Guardian?
PS I don't have too much stuff ,I think the most expensive object is my computer and it’s about 4 years old.

Thanks

Just take out normal Contents Insurance to include Accidental Damage.

There is no special Insurance for the tenant to take out.

"PS I don't have too much staff ". What you mean that you have servants. Hope the agency knows about them. icon7.gif
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.
