Co-Op account opening

Quick one for you folks. I recently applied for a Co-Op current account and was told that the application was successful pending banking formalities checks.

Anyone know what these checks are, and how long they take? There's nothing dreadful in my past so I'm not particularly worried - just want to start organising my accounts now.

Standard checks that all banks do around money laundering. Other than checking the Credit Agencies I've no idea what they do.
