What to take for a weeks holiday?

I'm off to palma nova in spain for a week on the second of august,
what would you put in your suitcase?
It's all inclusive so I don't need any food items,
I'm just looking for ideas as to what to put in my suitcase,
Need to buy some holiday clothes to so any inspiration there is welcome, so far I only have two maxi dresses...
I'm also thinking of buying some washing powder from poundland so I can freshen clothes up in the bath. Does anyone else do this?
Anyway, what do you recommend packing? Thanks!

What do you mean? Clothes wise? Asda and Matalan should be chock full of cheap and cheerful holiday clothes and washing clothes? No way for me!
  • Oddly enough they do sell washing powder in in Spain, but do you really need to wash your clothes in seven days?

Is this your first holiday?? :)

All you really need for any holiday is underwear for the week (two pairs per day probably), bikinis/swimsuit, clothes (daywear -shorts, t-shirts, dresses, maybe a jumper for chilly nights, maybe some nice outfits for the evening) suntan, toiletries (makeup/shampoo etc), shoes (although not too many!).

I don't see why you would need to take washing powder, I never wear the same outfit twice anyway :D You can easily fit a week's worth of clothes in a suitcase.

Maybe some games if you think you'll get bored. Oh and books for reading on the beach of course!

I have everything on my mental list, it's just to make sure I've not forgotten everything, - Sarcasm not really necessary there, hm?

Oh and as for the washing clothes my mum always used to do it when we went on holiday as kids, she tended to wash swimming costumes and underwear before we went home - i think it's just a passed on habit there, just wondering whether it's worth bothering or just to tackle the washing when I get home haha.

stick the smellies in a carrier bag in your case:)
you will have a shower most likely anyway so soap powder no good
as said they do have shops there but they just talk a bit funny and wont give you the change in your hand;)

Two bikinis, sun cream, swimming goggles and a lot of books.

Oh, and for the dirty washing, take an old pillow case - it'll be less smelly!
Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!

I always do a checklist of what to pack so that I don't forget anything.

Clothes wise i always take enough to last me the 7 days so I don't need to wash anything (denim shorts usually cover 2 days though)
Usually take two pairs of sandals and one pair flip flops, few bikini coverups.
Would take 2/3 bikinis for 7 days.

    Camera and charger/spare batteries
    Mobile phone charger
A good book/s or magazines ( as they are expensive abroad)

I buy my toiletries when there as I usually take my hand luggage only, HATE waiting on cases plus saves £30. Only things I take in my clear bag are my silver shampoo ( as not easy to get abroad) and my makeup liquids.
