Tesco Luggage Offer

Options
Are Tesco artificially overstating the normal price of the luggage that being included in their latest offer?

The reason I was asking is that I was intending to buy one of the 24" suitcases - which Tesco claim is £116 RRP - but flicking through the Argos catalogue, its about the same price that Tesco's offer price so long as you've got the 10 tokens.

  • The RRP is exactly what it says, a recommended price, there is nothing to say that anyone actually sells/ buys at that price.

    Quite possibly.

I was in Sainsburys a week ago and almost burst out laughing at their price of £20 for 1 litre of Pimms. I thought they must be about to put it on offer as the normal selling price is between £12 and £14 (You often see a special of £10). Sure enough they had reduced it this week but to £14 and made a big deal of how much you were saving when in reality they had inflated the price and then reduced it to the normal price.

When you look at it even at the price they are selling with your vouchers its expensive imo.

I've never bothered with these "offers". The vouchers just go straight in the bin!

The thing is they are made by a decent company only the Tesco ones are clearly inferior quality, its not even close.

I am beginning to get sick of Tesco and this marketing tosh. The one that really gets me is their "half price" strawberries, when did anyone buy strawberries from Tesco that were never advertised as half price.

Looking on line these are selling at £125 - £145 for the larger suitcase, and I guess £34.99 and ten coupons if you already shop there are not a bad price.

I normally just bin my coupons, these promotion are to encourage us to shop more with them to get the offers.
