Car insurance for British citizens who are non-UK residents

I'm currently teaching English in Spain and will be returning to the UK to work for 2 months this summer. During this time I would like to use my car (which is registered in my name and kept at my parents address), however I've been finding it difficult to find a company who will insure me as I'm classed as a non-resident. Any ideas?
