Apple Sucks

My 8 gig 3GS iPhone does not register the SIM card so no longer works. The Genius Bar manager at Regent St said that if I read the terms before uploading 5.1.1 I would have read that this might happen and they wanted me to pay £119 to replace the phone. When I bought the 4S phone I was advised to add the Cloud to the 3GS phone to improve its functionality. I was not told of any possible malfunctions.

When they offered me the new phone for £119 I did ask how it was my fault if I only did why they told me to do but they were not interested. I did ask if they would refurbish my phone and re sell it but the manager said that is not something that Apple does!

On my 4S phone I kept missing calls and messages would appear a day late so I went to the Genius bar again (this was after I already had my phone replaced because the touch screen did not work and the phone was very hot to the touch while charging) I was told again to download 5.1.1 and now when my sister rings me my phone does not ring. The battery is dying much faster. The apps are freezing and the WIFI keeps cutting out.

Has anybody had similar problems?

The missing calls etc. could be down to your network. I have the same problems with my galaxy s2 and OH has had the problem with three different phones, the only thing in common is the network provider (O2 in our case)

I've always had free repairs at the genius bar- it's unfortunate that I am there a lot.

I never have been served by a manager though so maybe that has something to do with it? I am always mega polite though (not that I am saying that the OP isn't!) so maybe it's getting a genius on a good day that means you get stuff fixed for free?

Do Apple products have their problems? Yes. But so do Android, Windows and Blackberry.

You could try rolling the FW back to an earlier version to see if it fixes the problem?
