Make your own Sweet Condensed Milk

Powdered milk is used in a lot of bread recipes - and is easily found in supermarkets in the coffee/tea section.
I don't buy milk and bought some powdered milk a few years ago for bread-making and then tried to use it to make up Angel Delight and it was fine for that too.0 -

I only buy it to make homemade yoghurt, it's about £1.45 a tin in Lidl or Aldi.

Powdered milk is fine for cooking, baking, just not for drinking! It needs to be drank very cold and I still remember a powdery top layer to it!0

I make fab millshakes with powdered milk if you blend it there is no powder left. Sainsburys basics one is great, 400g for just over a quid. Another use for it is making your own buttermilk using the St Ivel buttermilk as a culture. As for this condensed milk recipe I have tried it one thing I would say is it turned out a bit too thick and the coconut macaroons I made with it turned out awful so I'd add a tad more water. Xx0
