I bought three Camellias, two died, drowned. A curry plant snapped. A 7 year old Rocoto chilli, 1m across, lost half its leaves and flowers, so one side is bare. Other chillis are pathetic twigs, having lost most leaves. Courgettes are so so. Tomatoes are growing, with fruit on, although two broke, still growing. The wind is ridiculous. It does most damage as the leaves on the chillis end up a pathetic bruised mess and fall off. They can't cope with the continual battering.

Nettles, bindweed, wild strawberries and Periwinkle are doing well ...

oh dear, it`s not just me then. Its about damage limitation here and I have been busy preserving. Dehydrated very big onions and frozen a lot of shallots. Dehydrated herbs of all sorts and will be dehydrating potatoes before the july blight that I expect. However I`ll be carefully reading WA`s july forecast first

Roses very good but squash, chillis, peppers and courgettes at a standstill. Lettuces and brassicas are good and beans are climbing

Bindweed is going ballistic here as well leif. Too difficult to hoe at the moment as ground is sticky, so have to dig weeds out when I get a chance

At least we are not suffering alone.

I'm digging mine out, in places I've gone down over almost 3 foot and the roots go far deeper.
