Panini Magazine Subscriptions - AVOID

Just a warning to people who may be considering a subscription for a Panini Magazine. Be very wary. If the magazine usually includes free gifts, you will probably not receive them if you subscribe directly.
We subscribed for the Club Penguin magazine, which as per their subscription webpage clearly said "includes a chunky free gift" - luckily we took a screen print. When it arrived, despite being wrapped in a bag which promised the free gifts enclosed - there were no "chunky free gifts".
We complained and were fobbed off by them saying only "paper" gifts were included. We replied pointing out their webpage. We then noted a few days later they changed their web page! Crafty sods! Eventually after several more emails, broken promises on their part to get their "head office" to respond, they finally promised a refund.
Needless to say, several weeks have passed, and no sign of the promised refund.
Their customer service is very poor and they break their promises! Be very wary of them.

Panini magazine? Is there even enough to talk about on paninis?

Why is it crafty of them to correct an error on their website? You had a screenprint of the original offer, so it's not as if they tried to mislead you.
Because after they'd changed it, they emailed me it's link to "prove" that they were right and I was wrong!Enfieldian wrote: »What exactly were you expecting with a description of "chunky"?
Pencil, rubber and pencil case for the issue in question.
My point is that if they promise something, they should provide it. If they want to change their mind, fair enough, but they have to accept that customers have the right to cancel and get a refund. In my case, not only were they initially refusing a cancellation/refund, they were denying their own website, and even worse, telling me there was a minimum subscription period that was non-cancellable and they would continue to take money under the direct debit, and would pursue me in the courts if I didn't keep paying.
Oh, and by the way, they also claimed the distance selling regulations didn't apply to them!
A wholly disreputable firm!!0
