Thanks for all the good advice and guidance guys.0

We'll be going for a rad that will work off the CH and electric when we redo our bathroom. I can't stand cold towels unless of course we have a heatwave that lasts for more than one day.0

You don't need a Towel Rail or Radiator with Under Floor Heating... just throw your towels on the floor and let them dry there!! :rotfl:0 -
Why have underfloor heating and a radiator? Surely you should have specced the heating to do away with the radiator completely. Therefore all that will be required will be a towel rail.
If you are still concerned by a chunky towel rail0 -
We have a very handy set-up in our bathroom, 10 sqm, a radiator which runs off both the central heating system and the electric.
This is very handy to heat/dry towels etc during the summer, when the c/h is off. It has the on/off switch fitted outside the bathroom with its own red light showing when it on.

Yes, same here. It's also stainless steel - more expensive, but no rust issues.0 -
Our bathroom is 8 x 7 and is heated perfectly with our tall white towel rad via the central heating. The bigger the better. Worth mentioning is that when we bought the radiator at our local merchants we were told that white rads warm the room better than equivelant sized chrome ones, and possibly more dangerous is that chrome ones are hotter to the touch than white ones

Just another point, I've fitted a chrome towel rail to both my daughters CH systems. Each 1 had to be replaced by the supplier as they leaked from the onset. They replaced them with just simple photo proof so I'm guessing the failure rate is pretty high, fortunately mine and the 2 replacements were fine, but there are an awfull lot of soldered joints to fail compared to a welded rad.;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Are all white rads welded or do I need to look for a label saying welded. Excuse my ignorance:o and sorry for hijacking the OP but it's sort of relevant I think.0 -
Put a 974/450 chrome towel rail in a 2.5m/1.8m bathroom earlier this year. It replaced a similar width single radiator.
It is fully tiled no UFH.
I was worried about the heat output and whether to go white/chrome.
It pumps out more than enough heat to keep the room toastie."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Yes they are, well lets be specific all flat panel radiators are. Made of mild steel folded then welded on the seams,I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Umm.
Towell rails are for drying towells NOT for heating the room.
room heating should be EITHER UFH o a radiator.
Personally I think UFH + a towell rail is the best use of space for your requirements.0
