Leasehold to Freehold?

Hi,
I have recently extended the lease on my basement flat to 190 years.
Subsequently the freehold (who lived in the flat above) sold his flat. He has offered to transfer a share of the freehold over to the new owner and me (with us both having a share in a company that owns the freehold).
This will cost us the basic legal fees plus an annual fee for maintaining the company.
Is there a benefit in me taking a share of the freehold, considering that I already have a long lease? Would it make it a more attractive purchase to a future buyer?

Your flat becomes a bit more valuabe as it will be more attractive to buyers with share of freehold.
You get control over maintenance/repairs/improvements etc rather than having to rely on a freeholder.0
