HSBC PPI claim?

I had 2 loans with HSBC, one in 2006 and the other in 2008. At the time of taking out each loan I was told that if I didn't take the PPI the loan request would probably be declined. On the second occasion I was told that every time I have a credit check my credit rating goes down, so not only would my loan be refused without the PPI, if I even tried it would affect my credit rating in the future. At the time of taking out each loan I was secure in a job where I would be entitled to sick pay and a severance pay if I was made redundant. My parents also have savings for me in case of a rainy day.
Do you think I wouild be entitled to claim my PPI back.
My account with HSBC is now closed, I have no paperwork in relation to my loan. All I have is my old sort code and account number.
Many thanks

As moneyineptitude says, give it a try.
personally I think you will struggle with the HSBC loan taken out in 2008. Much of your complaint is hear say and the onus will be on you to prove it! The disclosure document HSBC used on loans taken out after 2008 were much more water tight in favour of the bank. That said many people are still winning claims against HSBC and whoose to say, you may win!0 -
HSBC YES YES YES!! I had 2 loans similar dates to yours.
Step 1 phone or go into Bank and just request policy numBers for Both loans. I did this over the phone.
Step 2 Send PPI request form.
I sent mine off on the 8th May 2012 and got an offer yesterday of £3049.00
Thay told me I needed the PPI in order to get the loans!0
