Personally, I would go back to the original EAs & say that you're interested in making an offer but need clarification (in writing) from both of the EAs on who retains the fees if the sale proceeds

TBH, it's more a headache for your vendor than you as they could be asked to pay two sets of fees.
My bolding. The fees due to either EA are absolutely nothing to do with a potential buyer as they are a matter for the vendor/lender so why would the buyer need clarification of anything at all to so with fees, written or otherwise?

    Note that the OP says
.... the property is no longer with the original agent, it's with a new one....
..so not even any confusion over whether the property was being listed by both EAs at the same time

The potential buyer's offer needs to be made to whoever is *currently* dealing with the sale: although they can obviously mention that they have viewed the property already via the original EA.

One thing I don't understand is why the original agent was happy to arrange viewing late Thurs evening, the agents actually changed Friday morning, they must of known what was happening!

They'll be working on their belief that they introduced the buyer so they'll get the fee.

As I said in my post, it's more the vendor's headache than the OPs. However, I still think it would be wise to get an agreement between the agencies before proceeding. Doesn't hurt to clarify
