Thanks for that. A nice simplist piece of software which also has some good editing facilities if required ... and it's free :)

I use convertxtodvd and have found that it usually is capable of handling video files others can't. When you say give up, do you mean it froze or did it give an error message of some kind?

reinstalled it and works fine now.. but it just freeze at around 80%

    One way

If you use Convert X Version 3 it will fill the disc

If you use Convert X version 4 it may not, especially if 2 pass encoding is used, even though it mentions low quality.

Add a file using the green + then add another and so on until it says the quality has dropped.

    Convert as usual

If you convert a film and then right click its converted folder, click properties and it is 2GB or so, you can find another one the same size, genre etc and put both on to one disc.

WinAVI All In One Converter, converts anything I throw at it to DVD, games consoles, mobiles, you name it, it seems to do it, even awkward MKV files!

What OS? Windows DVD Maker is part of Win 7 and does a better job than many of the commercial programs.

Brilliant, just goes to show what's right under your nose.

I had been struggling all weekend to make a descent photo slide show of my daughters wedding photos as it was something i had not dabbled in before, nice and simple with great results.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
