Actually I never quite understand why anyone would want more than a £5k balance on an account as you don't get any interest on anything over. Shame really.0

Not that I am aware of. However if you have it linked to the Vantage
you would earn some interest and this in turn would offset the £12.95 fee for the Gold account.
