I never even knew this was available until I did a search for it. Anybody taken out tent insurance and if so does it include the tent at your home eg if it was stolen from your home?

this is a money saving forum, the only insurance most will recommend is what is required by law.
Money saving and insurance are like a bicycle built for a fish .
You will loose money on insurance, lots of money or they would be bust and they are not, they own buildings and assets worth billions of pounds.

Thank you for your intrigung response we do a lot of camping and the quote is roughly £40 for the year. For the tent inc belongings to be insured incase of damage, theft etc is worth noting? We share ownership with sister in law and we've spent quite a lot of money on the tent etc0

Any contract of insurance would need to be read by an expert in legalese to see if it covers and what it excludes.
But in the over all long run, you will loose your £40 many times.
Your tent will be Knackered from UV in 4-5 years and you will need a new one.
5x£40 is £200 which buys a new tent.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Our house insurance covers our tents, both at home and while camping. Suggest you approach your own insurer to see how much they would charge to add this to your policy.0

Why for offering money saving advice ?
By its nature Insurance will cost you money, thats how it works.
You loose your money, they keep it.
The OP will end up paying the value of a new tent and own an old tent.
The theft element on contents will be down to a crime number and you try and get one of those out of the police for a "theft from a tent ". :rotfl:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
