I'm playing Half Life 2 now, good game right enough, not quite all that seemed to be promised from pre-release movies and very linear, which is why I think Counterstrike was included to give it longevity. Want the best shooter bar none, pretty much non-linear, great AI and graphics? Try Far Cry, should be available round a tenner in some places now.

Agreed - recently completed Far Cry and it was an excellent (and challenging) play with gorgeous graphics. Can't compare it to HL2 as I haven't tried that yet, but it certainly beats Doom 3 in the playability stakes!

Just picked my copy up from the Aylesbury store - £19.99 with no need to ring and reserve. Now the cheapest price in the UK (nowhere cheaper according to find-games.co.uk).
Shame they haven't reduced Far Cry instore though - still £19.99 - even though you can order it off their website for £12.97 plus del.

Just got back from birthday present hunting for my son and bought him Half life 2 for his PC for £19.99 @ Dixons. This was £10 cheaper than GAME, 3 doors down. I just checked on amazon too and it works out to be £7 cheaper than them too!
