It would be quicker to list the good agents, would take it much less space as well

They are about as much use as a chocolate teapot. OH and I reported an agent to them a few years ago for a whole catalogue of stuff (including blatantly lying and misrepresenting a property, sending out a gas fitter so bad that he caused a carbon monoxide leak on our boiler, and sending letters to our landlord lying about things we hadn't done - which they stupidly copied us into) and very little came of it. They agreed with all of our complaints, but in the end just awarded us £100. The impression I got was that as they're a 'voluntary' service they don't actually want to annoy the agents too much. We found them pretty much useless and tbh, it wasn't worth the stress.

Maybe the time has come to regualte landlords in England and Wales as they do in Scotland

It is a bit better in Scotland as they have to carry out repairs, albeit grudgungly, or have the repair forced on them

If they don't comply they can have be removed from the landlord register and it becomes an offence for them to take rent from any property in Scotland
    baldly going on...
  • Medlock Estates in Droylsden. Terrible company. The Landlord paid them £50 to send a gardener to clear up weeds in the back garden. Medlock sent an idiot that ripped out bushes and destroyed the garden. Now Medlock are trying to blame us, the tenants, to the Landlord by saying we told their gardener to ignore what he was told do. On top of that they lied to us in person and on their website about being members of the National Association of Estate Agents.

To the OP, if you want to slate a company, the least you can do is say why you think that way.

It'll be interesting to see how they try to prove that!

They reckon they have a written statement from the Gardener although they won't tell us who he is or if we worked for them or not....
