Need to replace boiler

I am buying a house, completing Friday.
The first thing I need to do is get the very old boiler with tank upstairs removed and a combi boiler put in.
I'm researching boilers / companies etc so that I can get people in to quote hopefully next Sat and get it replaced hopefully within a week of completing.
I want to get a mid range boiler. From my brief research I think it will be either a Worcester, Baxi, Ideal or Vaillant.
I'm not replacing the radiators.
Does anyone have any advice of where to start? And who to get in for quoting. And how much discount I should get baring in mind they will be able to scrap the copper water tank and get money for that.
From using the calculators to work out what size boiler I need, I think I need approx 25 watts
I'm not sure if I should buy a boiler online and get someone to fix it, or get local people to give me quotes for boilers in a certain price range (i.e. £700ish), if I should get warranty etc etc
House is in Birmingham.
Has anyone got any advice?
Thank you

I'm not sure you'll get any discount because of the copper etc. as builders usually expect to benefit from this themselves. After all when stuff is taken to the tip they have to pay for disposal, so they view it as a nice perk for their efforts in carting it away. If you want to profit from the sale of the metals then you need to tell the builders you will arrange disposal yourself.
I've always gone for Vaillant boilers as to me they have always been the market leaders for reliability etc. Get different plumbers in to give you quotes for various boilers in your price range. Best to go the supply & fit way for ease and speed. Boilers should come with their own warranty. I know I got 2yrs cover with my current Vaillant.
Ask on the In My Home board for more comprehensive advice. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
